Real-time analysis of a combustion state through visualization of CO2

NTT has established a 2 μm band laser technology that can analyze CO2 with high accuracy by utilizing the “laser gas sensing technology” cultivated through research and development of optical communication. By irradiating the laser, CO2 inside the internal combustion engine (boiler) can be visualized. We will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society by promoting improvements in the fuel efficiency of automobiles and the combustion efficiency of power plants that have been penalized for exceeding environmental limits. In this exhibition, we will introduce real-time analysis of the combustion state inside the engine by using a laser to visualize CO2 with high accuracy.
